Firstly, in order to burn abdominal fat, it is not necessary for you go on a fad diet, a starvation
diet or to spend mind numbing hours on various cardiovascular exercises. You do not have to waste time doing hundreds of ab crunches or waste your hard earned money on the latest ab toner or miracle ab belt advertised on TV.
That said, here are 5 easy tips on how best to burn off and lose abdominal fat:
1. Eat regular meals Do not skip meals, especially breakfast.
I would be an extremely wealthy man if I had a dollar for every time someone says to me, “I do not eat a lot. I only eat one meal a day, yet I cannot lose weight or all this fat around my belly”
Skipping meals and depriving yourself of regular meals will slow down of your metabolic rate as your body goes into starvation mode and seeks to conserve energy. It does this by holding on to fat. The body is induced to use healthy lean muscle tissue for energy, the loss of which further depresses the metabolic rate.
2. To burn abdominal fat,ensure that the bulk of the food you eat is in it’s natural form.
By this I mean unprocessed food that has had nothing added or removed. No chemical additives, preservatives, sweeteners added sugar, enhancers, etc. Most of these chemicals serve to increase the level of toxins in the body. Excess toxins will see the body increase it’s fat stores for “protection” and can also lead to fluid or water retention. In other words, a bloated gut or belly.
3. Do not use meal replacement weight loss products or packaged reduced fat or reduced sugar diet foods.
These are also full of chemicals and hydrogenated fats…the worst kind of fat.
4. In order to burn abdominal fat, you must include some resistance weight training exercises into your exercise program.
This will ensure that you maintain and increase your level of healthy lean muscle tissue. Lean muscle is energy intense, and will help to increase your metabolic rate which will increase your ability to burn abdominal fat. A high metabolic rate turns your body into a highly efficient fat burning machine.
5. Be smart with your cardio vascular exercises.
A short, intense cardio session of 15-20 minutes in addition to the resistance training, will give you an overall exercise routine lasting 45-60 minutes. This high intensity routine will get you and keep you in the fat burning zone even when you are away from the gym and not exercising.
If you follow these tips on nutrition and exercise, you will lose the excess weight you would like to and successfully burn abdominal fat.
