Understanding Man Boobs/Gynecomastia & How To Get Rid Of Them

By Ollie Lawson

Gynecomastia, popularly known as “Man boobs” has become a more common condition in recent years, but  what causes this unsightly and embarrassing condition and what is the best solution for those unlucky men who have long had to suffer in silence?

Man Boobs are a fairly common occurrence during puberty when a large percentage of young men experience enlargement of one or both breasts.

This is what I would term “Puberty Onset Gynecomastia or Man Boobs.”

This usually takes place at the meridian age of 14, when the young adolescent’s hormones are running rampant as testosterone levels spike.
This testosterone can aromatase into estrogenes{the female hormone}in the fat tissues…the breast.

The mechanics and reasons for this unsightly phenomenon are too complex to go into here, but suffice to say, the resultant Man Boobs presents the adolescent just discovering his maleness with a condition both baffling and embarrassing

Luckily for him though, the condition in the majority tends to be short term, and the Man Boobs disappear as his hormonal balance returns to normal.

However, 10-15% of men prove to be unlucky and keep their Man boobs into adulthood

Gynecomastia is also commonplace amongst elderly men as testosterone levels fall, accompanied by an increase in weight and fat levels

OTHER CAUSES OF GYNECOMASTIA

Steroid Use…  The use of Anabolic steroids has increased as young men seek  shortcuts in their desire to achieve the muscular body that is deemed to be the ideal today.

I ran a gym in South west London for a number of years and came across cases of Man Boobs or “Bitch Tits” (the bodybuilders term for gynecomastia) amongst some of my members

Excess testosterone caused by using steroids results in aromatasation into the female hormone, estrogen, resulting in the growth of breasts.Ironical, how the desire to look more masculine results in a most unmasculine look!

Dr Sean Younai a member of the Board of Certified Plastic, Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgeons,  who does a lot of  corrective gynecomastia surgery, writes that other causes of Man Boobs includes use of estrogen medications in men who want to develop female features, chronic Liver Disease including that caused by alcohol abuse, a large variety of medications such as Digitalis and other heart medications, anti-anxiety and antidepressant medications, chemotherapy drugs, marijuana Use, some diet or “Health supplements”, obesity, aging, tumors, genetic disorders such as  Klinefelter and Gilbert’s Syndrome.

GETTING RID OF MAN BOOBS

The usual method is expensive plastic surgery which can cost thousands of dollars/pounds.You usually have to find the money yourself as most insurance companies or the National Health Service will not finance cosmetic surgery.

You will then need to wear a compression vest for weeks during a painful recovery, and the aftermath  may see you sporting surgery scars over skewed and disproportionate nipples.

But there is a way of avoiding invasive and last case scenario expensive surgery.

Solving your Man Boob problem is all about finding a way to balancing your hormones.

And the good news is,  you can do this in a matter of a few weeks.

As a special bonus, I am able to offer you a free ebook:  The Secrets To Concealing Your Man Boobs.  Please complete the form below and click submit query to get download instructions.
